CONSERVATION & COMMUNITY PROJECTS

At Mobile Expeditions, conservation is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to operate in harmony with the environments in which we set up our camps, and ensure a very light eco-footprint.

While staying with us in our Mara Camp, our guests have the opportunity to visit and make a contribution to local conservation trusts, including the Mara Elephant Project, The Mara Predator Project and The Anne Kent Taylor Fund.

GIVING BACK The world's most powerful resource is education, and Ross and Caro are passionate about helping children in Kenya access it in their local areas through fundraising for school fees. They particularly raise fees for children in Baringo Country and for Maasai Mara Girls.

Ruko is a community conservancy on the eastern shores of Lake Baringo. Ross and Caro were greatly involved in the setting up of the Ruko Community Wildlife Trust (RCWT) after clashes between the Pokot and Njemps brought their elders to the area looking for an urgent solution to ongoing tribal conflict.
Working in conjunction with the Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT), Ruko is a fair partnership between the Njemps and Pokot communities of Lake Baringo, whose aim is to restore and protect the region for the benefit of its wildlife and its communities.
To date, 34 Impala and 8 Rothchild’s giraffe have been successfully trans-located to the conservancy established on Ruko, and plans are underway to continue re-introducing wildlife species, namely plains game, to the area.
