OUR TEAM

Ross and Caro lead the Mobile Expeditions team, drawing from a long family legacy of safari and conservation. Both were born and raised in Kenya, spending their childhoods exploring and discovering the country’s rich natural history and biodiversity. They met as teenagers and quickly bonded over their shared love for Kenya’s wildlife and wilderness.

Together, they have spent years traveling throughout Africa, guiding walking and mobile safaris in East Africa. Their two sons, Charlie and DanDan, have grown up sharing this same passion for adventure, safaris, and animals—and often join their parents on safari expeditions. Charlie earned his KPSGA Bronze guiding certificate at just 13 years old and is now a fully qualified safari guide.

An expert and close-knit team of staff work tirelessly behind the scenes at Roca River Camp. Most of the team are local Maasai from the area, complemented by a few seasoned veterans from the original mobile safari days.

Philip Mclellan assists in managing Roca River Camp, bringing extensive experience in the hospitality trade. He has managed and hosted some of East Africa’s most renowned safari camps in stunning wildlife reserves and conservancies, as well as Manda Bay, another Roberts family beach resort on the Kenya Coast.

James Ouwor oversees our reservations office with efficiency and dedication, ensuring seamless and personalized service for every guest. Melissa Shepherd leads our marketing efforts with creativity and strategic insight, helping us share the magic of Roca River Camp with the world.
